Direct Selling Association’s Legal and Regulatory conference 2025

The Legal and Regulatory conference held by DSA called for a strong recognition of direct seller independence. Direct Selling Association invited lawmakers, senior White House staff, and legal experts to address the state pressures faced by direct sellers.

Sharing his thoughts on the difficulties faced by direct sellers, Dave Grimaldi, CEO of Direct Selling Association said, “Policymakers need to hear directly from people who can explain why their independence as direct selling distributors works for their lives, why a traditional job structure doesn’t and how clear contractor rules give them the stability to build their business.”

The conference held discussions on key issues, H.R. 3495 bill, FTC rulings, and FDA scrutiny. Direct Selling Caucus leaders from different states and committees and members of Congress also attended the conference. Most stressed topics in the conference were about the importance of independent status for direct sellers, regulatory consistency across states, and protecting flexible work opportunities.
